A warm welcome to our new Executive Manager Kiryl Shantyka

Hi Kiryl, and welcome to the Effektiv Altruism Sverige team! We are excited to have you as our newly appointed Executive Manager.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

It is my pleasure to introduce myself as the newly appointed Executive Manager at EA Sweden! With a dynamic background in both business and economics, obtained through my BSc from the Stockholm School of Economics, as well as my BSc/MSc in Journalism from the Belarusian State University, I bring a unique blend of expertise to the table.

My experience in business management, stakeholder engagement, and event organization, along with my involvement in student movements and my role as a Board Member at Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets, have allowed me to develop a keen sense for running community-building endeavors. And let’s not forget my participation in organizing some of the most prominent sports competitions, including the Ice Hockey World Championship and Olympic qualifications – a testament to my passion for bringing people together to achieve great things. I am eager to bring all of these skills and experiences to EA Sweden and contribute to the community’s continued success.

What do you like about the ideas of effective altruism?

Effective altruism is the embodiment of my desire to make a real and lasting impact in the world. The idea of bringing together my heart and mind to help others is nothing short of exhilarating, and the fact that the effective altruism community prioritizes transparency and accountability only adds to its appeal.

The thought of being surrounded by individuals who possess not only exceptional expertise and insights, but also an unwavering passion for doing good is truly invigorating. Whether it’s through supporting effective charities, exploring cutting-edge solutions to some of the world’s biggest problems, or simply learning from like-minded individuals, I am eager to dive headfirst into supporting our community and do my best to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
