EA Sweden Summer Retreat 2023

Welcome to the EA Sweden Summer Retreat 2023, a unique opportunity to connect, learn, and make a difference in the world through the lens of Effective Altruism.

This year, our three-day retreat runs from August 11 to 13, offering a rich program filled with thought-provoking discussions, collaborative brainstorming sessions, and networking opportunities with fellow altruists. 

We invite everyone interested in effective altruism – from those who are just starting their journey, to seasoned practitioners. Whether you're a student, a professional, a philanthropist, or simply a curious mind, your perspective is valued!

Location

The retreat is scheduled at a farmhouse near Vingåker, Sörmland. Depending on availability, we plan to organize carpooling from Stockholm. Alternatively, attendees can use public transport to the venue, which includes a 20-minute car ride from the train station in Vingåker. We'll aim to arrange transportation that fits individual needs as much as possible.

The venue is located in the stunning countryside surroundings and very close to a lake, offering the perfect backdrop for insightful discussions and inspiring ideas. 

Agenda

We have a packed program, including keynote speakers, engaging workshops, co-creation sessions focused on your specific needs and plans, and social events. The detailed agenda will be shared with the participants closer to the event date.

Accommodation and Meals

The farmhouse and surrounding houses collectively have a total of 20 beds. Additionally, we will be using 10 inflatable mattresses. Please note that it is likely that you will be sharing a bedroom with at least one other person. The accommodations include WCs, electricity, heating, and there is Wi-Fi available. However, please be aware that the internet coverage may not always be consistent due to our location in the countryside.

All meals are included in the participation fee of 200 SEK. We will be preparing the meals together in different teams. It's important to note that all meals will be vegan, but we welcome vegetarian options as well. If you have specific dietary needs, please reach out to us, and we can discuss the best options available for you.
