Annual meeting weekend

Over the weekend of November 18th-20th we will organize a mix of workshops, networking events and lectures in Stockholm and hold our annual members meeting where we elect the board of directors for 2023. The main location is at Textilgatan 31, Stockholm, and the program for the weekend is found below.

 

Annual Meeting Weekend Program

Friday November 18th

18-22 Social get-together at Neurora
An informal social gathering at Neurora, a co-living space and meeting point in the Stockholm EA ecosystem. There will be food and drinks, and we will organize lightning talks where members present short pitches (max 5 min) on ideas they have or work they do. This is a great opportunity to get to know more people in the Swedish EA community.

9-10:30 Breakfast seminars
Depending on your profile and your interests expressed in the registration, we assign participants to one of several smaller breakfast seminars. If you have registered for this, you will receive information about which breakfast seminar you are assigned to.

11-12:30 Opening session
Executive Director Vilhelm Skoglund shares news on the latest developments in EA Sweden and introduces new members of staff and board candidates.

12:30 Lunch

13:30 Parallel sessions:

  • EAGx Nordics: Brainstorming workshop for the EA conference that will take place in Stockholm on April 21st-23rd 2023, held by Vilhelm Skoglund, Executive Director at EA Sweden

  • Code of conduct for EA Sweden, workshop on the proposal for the annual meeting held by Cecilia Tilli, outgoing Executive manager at EA Sweden

  • What is it like to work with operations at an EA organization focused on policy? Session held by Gabriella Overödder, Operations Manager and Strategy Adviser, Centre for Long-Term Resilience

14:30 Break

15:00 Parallel sessions:

  • A Nordic longtermist research institute: Session by Karim Jebari, Researcher at the Institute for Futures Studies

  • Workshop for writing proposals (motions) for the annual meeting: Session by David Andersson, proposed chair for the annual meeting, Cecilia Tilli, outgoing Executive Manager, and Karolina Eklöw, outgoing chair of the board of directors.

  • Effective giving in the Nordics: Session held by Henri Thunberg, Founder of Ge Effektivt

16 Break

19- Network dinners
Depending on your profile and interests expressed in the registration, we assign participants to one of several smaller dinner groups. The dinner meetups will be at restaurants in different parts of the town. We kindly ask you to cover the expenses for your own dinner. If you have registered for this, you will receive information about which dinner group you are assigned to.

Sunday November 20th

9-10 Breakfast
We enjoy a vegan breakfast buffet together at Fabriken.

10-12 Annual Meeting
The annual meeting where we will elect the new board.

12:30 Lunch
We conclude the weekend with lunch before it’s time to take off.
